Home    Parish Records    GRO Records    Census    Military Records    Other Sources

This section of the web site summarises the information that I've collected in the course of my One-name Study.

Information about Rudram, Rudrum and Rud(d)erham has been collected from all the usual family history sources. These includes the General Registrar’s Indices, the Census and Parish Records of course. There's also Military Records and Other Sources which covers Wills, Marriage Licences & much more.

The spelling of surnames was so fluid before the mid nineteenth century that some flexibility is needed when searching the earlier records. In fact I still see new variations on my surname now. The widespread availability of good quality digital images of many records means I've been able to compile this information from images of the original records. The major exception to this are the parish records where I've been much more reliant on transcriptions. You are urged to check everything, including those records I have has access to, for your self. I have been helped with several transcription and indexing projects and as a result I am to well aware of what can go wrong. Check everything for yourself!
